Downtown Seattle Master Bathroom Remodel
We Transformed a dated master bathroom, in a downtown Seattle area condominium, into a modern sanctuary. Complete with a walk-in closet, deep soaking tub with a glass enclosure, and a back-lit glass block toe kick. The final result was truly an urban oasis.
Bellevue Bathroom Remodel with Steam Shower
This steam shower uses a top of the line Thermasol Steam Generator. The featured options the client chose allow for the steam shower to be turned on by a cell phone. The solid stone bench, over the linear drain, looks sleek in this modern shower.
Capitol Hill Renovation
This Capitol Hill renovation included new flooring, wainscoting, trim, and paint in the dining area, a complete kitchen remodel, and two bathroom remodels. The clients brought to the table great aesthetic ideas that worked to modernize their home while retaining its period charm.
The second floor guest bathroom had heated floors that ran into the custom shower pan. Check out the streamlined tiled, heat register cover. The shower in the main floor guest bath pictured utilized the existing glass block window and maximized the overall floor space and appearance with a glass shower enclosure.

Survey Says: Seattle Remodeling Surges!
According to an article entitled “Homeowners breaking out the sledgehammers” that was posted in the online version of the SeattlePI.com on February 27th, “[in] the Seattle area, 58 percent agree that it’s a good time to remodel and 46 percent of homeowners plan to do so in the next two years.” Clearly, customers agree that it’s a great time to begin Seattle remodeling projects.
The article draws from a survey conducted by home renovation website Houzz.com that was released on March 27th.
The article on SeattlePI.com contains excerpts from the survey report. We took at look at the full report ourselves, and were impressed by some of the findings and statements included in the survey results.
For example:
Hanging out in the bathroom? Spending time in a room does not necessarily correlate with dollars spent. Family/TV rooms are by far the most popular place to hang out among U.S. homeowners surveyed, but are not the #1 place where homeowners are spending money. Percentage of money spent on kitchens and bathrooms, on the other hand, far exceeds percentage of time in these spaces. Nobody was willing to admit to spending significant time in their bathroom – but apparently the time we do spend there is worth significant investment.
“Bathrooms have the highest cost/time spent ratio – we may not spend the most time there, but the time we do spend is worth significant investment”
We also noted the high importance of reputation among the factors that survey respondents ranked when homeowners choose a professional remodeling company:
Hiring Criteria % Rating % Rating “Very Important”
Good reviews & recommendations 81%
Expert in their field 70%
Personality I can work with 67%
Completed projects like mine 59%
Lowest cost option 8%
Q: When choosing a professional to work on remodeling or decorating in your home, on a scale of 1 to 5, where 5 is very important, how important are each of the following?[hr]
Many of these factors are familiar to us, and align with feedback that we receive from our customers. Our customer reviews confirm the high degree of satisfaction that our customers have with projects that J & M Remodel and Repair have done for them.
